Man lives consciously.....

Man lives consciously for himself, but is an unconscious instrument in the attainment of the historic, universal aims of humanity.
Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910)

Life goes on.....

Man lives consciously. E-

  1. Love this message from Leo Tolstoy. I need to revisit him....thanks for sharing it again.

  2. Hello Elizabeth

    thank you for stopping over recently. I don't know if you noticed that I have recently moved and don't yet have a computer at home. Hence I am rather erratic in my responses and commenting these days.

    It is nice to meet you and I look forward to chatting with you.

    I wonder, or really hope, that I can, in small ways, become, on a daily basis, in a conscious mindful way an instrument of kindness and caring.

    Which reminds me of this:

    Prayers of Invocation

    Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
    where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    where there is injury, pardon;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
    and where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master,
    grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
    to be understood, as to understand;
    to be loved, as to love;
    for it is in giving that we receive,
    it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
    and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

    st. francis of assisi - 13th century

    These are very conscious acts of connecting through care don't you think?

    Happy days Elizabeth
