Windows of Stain Glass........

Let the light shine through your soul of "stain glass windows", never allowing pain to become the cloud that cast itself upon the light.....

Life goes on...

amongst the light that is found through stain glass windows...

Chicago Winter 2009......

It was a day after Christmas when I visited Chicago this year. The temperature was just around twenty-four degrees, and the wind made it feel like a minus four degrees. I have never been to Chicago before. I enjoyed all the unique architecture and wonderful Christmas decor, and the Chicago pizza is the best. It was a very interesting place to say the least......

Life goes on...

In the grand city of Chicago, with it's high rise buildings, fancy architecture, wonderful museums and the massive body of water that lies next to it's perimeter... you must enjoy the temperamental weather! E-

Winter Fun.....

One sunny day my daughter and I set out to have some fun. Winter is where fun can begin. This day was a perfect day to go snowboarding (as a family) on Stevens Pass. I am just "OK" on a board, but I will stick to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing from now on (which I started to do last year). About snowboarding...I "shredded" Willamette Pass (Oregon) six times in one day and never really could control my board, (almost wiped out everyone around me) I lost control and this was the end of my experience with snowboarding. Nevertheless, Bekah and I enjoyed ourselves last year on Stevens Pass.......

Life goes on..

In winter fun....when the snow is over six feet deep, the wind is against your face and the sun is on your back...let the speed of the board take you sailing down a white mountain. E-

Not Forgotten Souls............

The locals call this place "the Ruins". The Hill Ward site has a burial yard which contains thirty-two hundred graves only marked by numbers. "If you died here, you disappeared". Today some of the numbered graves have new granite stones with actual names on them. The Hill Ward also known as the "White House" was "a men dormitory for farm workers. Over 300 male patients worked in orchards, fields and with livestock. There was no central heating. Many visitors believe this place is haunted". Some friends and I had an opportunity to go visit this old insane asylum ruins several months ago. As I walked through the property, I thought of what I read that was done unlawfully to these patients as they lived in this ward and worked on the farm. I am grateful that now the "numbered" graves have a name......souls are never forgotten.

Life goes on....

the numbered graves are not forgotten souls.....this was a place people were put because the "society" thought they were "crazy". A soul is never forgotten. E-

Casper, Marley & Jake........

Meet some of my best friends-Casper,Marley,and Jake. They have been pretty good this year...except when Marley stayed home to long. He tore up most of the wooden blinds in the house. Casper loves to jump, and stick his claws into my back while I am having my morning coffee, and once Jake was left home alone, he ate my antique book, that was given to me by a dear friend.

So here you have it, my best friends truly love me, and the things that I have.......

Life goes on.....

Best wishes to my friends-Casper, Marley and Jake.....they are a blessing. E-

Climb Every Mountain..........

There are vast ranges of Mountains all over this world, and yet some have not been climbed. Whether it be small or large, mountains are suppose to be explored. The joy is overwhelming when you get to the top and just think people would never have to worry about their weight.....and the doctors would go out of business, along with the drug representatives.

Life goes on....

Climb every mountain.....even if it is small. E-

Be happy

Be happy is sometimes hard to do. A few days ago a man hung himself from this bridge....my heart was sad. (This man was only in his early thirties.) It is Christmas season and you wouldn't expect these things to happen, but the fact that this man wasn't happy, that he took his own life. Be happy is hard to do sometimes....and trying not to worry about tomorrow is even harder.

Life goes on....

Be happy. Don't worry about tomorrow...even if it is hard to do. May the wind be at your back and the warmth of sunshine be upon your face, rise and shine each day. Death gives no answers, but life is eternal. My prayers go out to the family of this young man and my spirit cried for him, for his life ended under this bridge.

Empires fall......

"Empires" that are built upon greed, lust and dishonesty will eventually fall.....I am talking not about a country's empire, but an individuals "empire". The quest to maintain individual "greatness", only depends upon how strong that person is to with standing the temptations or obstacles that are present each day. Sadly to say, we live in a time when things are easy to obtain, by secretly compromising our morals becomes the coarse in order to maintain our desires; whether it be sexual, financial or material. The sad thing about this is, when found out, it only takes seconds to bring down an individuals "empire". An "Empire" fell in America yesterday........it is not over.

Life goes on,

Even when individuals "empires" are brought down by their own choices....sadness is upon the person who loses more then just money, but their dignity. E-

Fortress......

I love to check out old architecture, especially old churches. Recently I had an opportunity to visit one in Spokane, Washington, U.S.A.. (Of course nothing compares to the churches in Italy, which I checked out while I lived there. Later I will tell you a story of something funny that happened with my children concerning a church in Rome.)

Life goes on....

In the fortress's of brick and mortar, with their arched ceilings, colorful stained glass windows and symbolism echoing between the walls, may the alters of granite let peace rein on earth. E-
